The last few days I have noticed that after starting my car my master warning light appears for about 15 seconds and the disappears. Seems to stay illuminated longer than normal. Few questions....

Does the master warning light illuminate every time the car starts?

Does the warning light stay indicated for a while before going off or should it appear and disappear within a few seconds?

Currently at 4,700 miles. I guess my 5k is coming up. Is that a reason possibly?

 

Yes, absolutely.

 

and FYI Once you pass the 5k mark, the light will stay on until it is reset.

 

My car usually says Maintenance Required on my dash.

 

Let's say I have that same warning light and want to reset it myself - anyone know how I could go about doing that?

I'm at work and the owners manual is at home and I'm not having any luck finding anything on the matter on these forums.
