I am surprised it's not a standard option in the states. Reverse camera is standard on F Sports in Australia. Guess that's how Lexus can justify charging extra $25k - $35k for 3IS down here.

My guess it's that OP is in Canada where we have 3 different F-sport models. Series 1 to 3. Series 1 is like a basic F-sport, series 2 adds nav, reverse cam and sunroof and finally, series 3 adds ML audio and lane departure and couple other driving aids.

I also have a series 1 as I didn't really wanted nav and reverse cam ( it's like a 4k more package)

We get ripped down here on all imports. I just paid $75k AUD ($58,886 U.S) for 2015 F Sport with all options (no option for heated steering wheel though :P). Btw $75K was mates rate as well, in reality the car was above $86k ($67522 US!).

4k is actually very cheap for nav, reverse cam, heat steering wheel, moonroof, blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert.
They are not essential component for everyone, but the package is very cheap or reasonable for what you get. Take a look at BMW, Audi or Benz., you will see how cheap they are.

4k is only for nav, moon roof and reverse cam. It's another 4-5k to add the other options if I recall correctly.

Nope. I typed it directly from the Lexus IS booklet.
They mentioned even more stuff, but I remember those are already included in Sport series 1 and the base model.
Sport 3 series will upgrade the speakers, power passenger seat, sunshade, cruise control, and pre collision system. It is only another 2k..
These is the most you can get unless you go for executive package. This is for Canada.

Again, I typed these from the Lexus booklet.

In Canada:
Std is 49600
F1 is 50500
F2 is 54500
F3 is 56200

Anyways, let's get back to the original subject which is the back up cam! Enough thread hijacking!
