I think a little speculation is fun. We will make more announcements over the next week. We have some big plans for the 3IS.

Default F sport

Wish your project car would have started as an F sport.

After looking at the minor differences between the F-Sport and Non we didn't feel it necessary yet. When we start looking at body components we will probably bring in a F-Sport. The front bumper seems to be the only thing we would have to change for F-Sport parts (or is there something else we are missing)?

One of the biggest differences would be the AVS (Sport+ mode) suspension on the IS350 F Sport. It makes a huge difference.

I was under the impression that Sport+ was in all 350's regardless of RWD, AWD, or FSport.

I believe it's only in the F Sport that the suspension actually stiffens.

AVS (Active variable steering) is only available on RWD. Not on AWD.

You are referring to VGRS, Variable Gear Ratio Steering.

AVS (Active Variable Suspension) is only available on the IS350 F-Sport (RWD and AWD). It is not available on the regular IS350 or the IS250 F-Sport. This the main reason to get an F-Sport and again, it's only available IS350 F-Sport. AVS is activated when in the Sport+ mode.

VGRS (Variable Gear-Ratio Steering) is only available on the IS350 RWD (either base or F-Sport), although it's more common on the F-Sport varient.

The 8-Speed transmission is only available on the IS350 RWD (base and F-Sport), with everything else getting the 6-Speed tranny.

That being said, I own a IS350 F-Sport RWD with VGRS and it's awesome.👍👍 The AVS and VGRS in conjunction with the great 8-Speed tranny makes the F-Sport worth the extra money.

Along with reasons you listed, RWD F-Sport also gets power tilt and telescopic steering wheels that remember it's position and retracts when engine is shutoff is the reason why I decided to go with RWD IS350 F-Sport even living in MN.
