Hey everyone,

My name is Stephen. I am a technology specialist and car lover here at Hendrick Lexus in Charlotte, NC.

Had a customer ask about clutch/torque converters in the drive train between the 3IS250-350 and their F sport models.

Being that the cars are LFA inspired, I'm not sure what to tell them.

If someone could point me in the right direction for all 3IS models that would be great!

They are traditional torque converters... the IS350 8AT just has very aggressive lockup on the T/C. I don't know if the 350 AWD and 250 models have the same aggressive T/C lockup.

The LFA is an SMG transmission. Literally nothing like the ATs in the IS.

 

The 8AT is from the Lexus IS-F Sports Sedan. It is reputed to be one of the best AT transmissions out there. Not on the level of a DCT or dual clutch transmission but almost as good. hi new to lexus, I gust got a 2014 is250 fsport .automatic 6 speed..
just wondering if the transmissions are good..

I traded a 2011 buick regal turbo made in Germany nice car but it had a weak tranny
made in china..

but the lexus is really a solid car and hope it server me well.. I love the is205 fsport.
any input on the trans would be greatly desired even trans number what kind thanks.
