try doing what I did in my 2010 Toyota tacoma. I was able to get the DVD player in the dash to work by pressing the E-brake pedal in just enough so that the brake light came on on the cluster, but the brake still hadn't actually engaged. Then rigged the pedal to stay in that position. Made my drive from Arizona to Florida go much faster.

Thank you. I tried with the cable I had in the house from my camera and yeah... it works but the fact that the eBrake needs to be enaged draws back the purpose... I was able to hook up my phone via HML -> HDMI2RCA adapter ..I was hoping to use it as GPS while driving but the brake thing defeats the purpose 
I wish there's a way to override that limitation ...
