Default Ok to buy from Canada?

Just wondering if I'm and the United States if it's possible to buy an executive package f sport there and bring it back to the states. I'm sure it's possible just whether or not kilo can be changed to miles and Celsius to Fahrenheit. Anyone know? Wouldn't be a problem if we could get that package here.

Yes that all can be easily changed as the f sport is all digital. However, you will be part of Lexus Canada and the warranty does not work in the USA sadly. You would have to drive up to Canada for Maintenance work or anything else. Only assistance you can get in the USA is the roadside assistance which is across North America.

There are some differences of the 3IS between Canada and US ---- for navi-equipped IS, Enform and the App suite are not present in the Canadian version.

Also for the non-navi equipped one, there is a chance that the traffic info fed from HD radio may or may not work.

Not so sure that is correct. I bought my 2006 IS in the US and brought it to Canada and still had warranty. The Lexus warranty is North American wide. At least it was then so, so unless something has changed..........Acura on the other hand does not work that way.

The other issue you might have is financing. You would most likely have to pay the full amount, Toyota Canada won't do financing for you.

Looking to get white with red/black interior. Guess I'll wait for the 2015s and see if they offer a complete f sport luxury package. Hope so.

Agree. It's worth double-checking with Lexus Corp in the US and Canada if the warranty will be honored. I'm curious as to those people who are Canadian citizens, own the car, and move to the US... will the US not support any warranty claims??? Surely something can be worked out.

One thing for sure, you must pay cash/in full since leasing/financing would not be permitted since credit approval is based on your credit score/rating in Canada (unless you have a SIN, credit rating, etc here). If you have the money and Lexus USA warrants the car, plus factor in a good exchange rate for the US against the Canadian dollar these days, it may also make financial sense.

What I wrote is what my sales rep informed me and was repeated to me again by the financial/warranty person of the dealership I was at. You can obviously call both Lexus USA and Lexus Canada to inquire.

".....any Lexus dealership in North America."

Believe me, I had my US car serviced under warranty in Canada.

^^^ Good point Appleman. Logically makes sense. If I take a trip down to the US with my RX or IS and it breaks down, I'll be covered under warranty.

Thanks for the great info. I wasn't aware of the North American warranty coverage until you pointed out.

Which items can you get on the Canadian F Sports that you can't here? I know about the headlight washers and heated steering wheel, and of course Atomic Silver and USB. What else?
