Hi guys, found out what that noise was coming from. Apparently I have a bad internal bearing in the alternator pulley that needs to be replaced. Anyone know how to do this? i can't seem to find any videos online, or should I just watch the 2nd gen videos which there seem to be much more of?

seriously, no one has done an alternator replacement on the 3rd gen IS?

 

When the alternator is buried like that it’s a pain in the *** to swap. Just take it to a shop - esp if you’re not sure about what you’re doing.

Nope. 2014 IS350, original alternator.

 

Look at 2 gen IS videos pretty much the same. I’ve done it and if you’re mechanically 2-3hr process. Hardest part was the hidden bracket bolt that holds the alternator.
