I purchased a wireless dongle that allows for wireless carplay. Phone goes either in the cup holder, pocket, or driver side seat. FYI with wireless carplay there is some input delay for actions like skipping songs, but not enough of an issue for me.

Does your dongle work for Android ? If so very interested, please share the details

I tried putting my phone in the cupholder but it keeps moving, there is very limited space to keep things

If I can make my android auto wireless then phone will be in my pocket

The dongle I purchased doesn't specifically say android auto anywhere but a quick amazon search showed plenty of other options that support wireless android auto.

In my closed center console, where it is out of the way and can't cause distractions.

Looks nice , is it easy to take off the mount when not using the phone?

Super easy, you just unscrew the thing that clamps onto the vent fin. Takes 5 seconds.

It used to sit in a cupholder. I usually give one of the guitarists a ride to our gigs. I leave the glove compartment open as Lexion doesn't always
connect wirelessly any longer and it keeps my phone charged on longer rides. He felt compelled to move it one direction or the other in the
cup holder or put it in the open glove compartment. I got an iOttie CD phone holder and that's where it is now.

Mine's a little archaic but it started when I had my Miata a few years ago. RAM suction cup windshield mount, with a magnetic phone mount, that requires me sticking a thin metal plate to the back of my phone (the case goes over this). I can literally just get in and plomp my phone to the mount and it isn't going anywhere. I've used this setup in my last 4 cars and love it. I don't have CarPlay so this at least puts everything at a good distance to the steering wheel.

Although that looks to not be available anymore. Also, may only be CarPlay. There are a lot out there.

This is from OhSnap! I think its around $40-50 but they have sales periodically. The adhesive wont damage the finish, is easily removed and is rock solid. For reference that is an S24 Ultra. It blocks the passenger seat controls when the phone is in place from the passenger....I can get to them no problem. Edit*** I guess it also blocks the tuner **** for the radio but I will likely never use the FM/AM radio or the CD player. I only use spotify or audible.
