TPMS Sensor issue
i have a 2017 Lexus IS350. Recently i noticed my car not displaying any tire sensor info and i got the tire light on my guage.
So i thought i had to program it again. So i pulled out my Autel and started from the left front tire and started to read all the sensor id first and went around the car. when i went to the rear left, the Autel wouldn't read the tire sensor. i kept moving the sensor around and still nothing then eventually it read it after a while. The battery level showed good on the machine for all sensor. I programmed it, and it came on for a second then the reading was gone again.
I used the Autel again and started to read all the sensor id, and same thing, the rear left tire does not read right away. this time it wouldn't read for almost 4 minutes. whereas the other ones read instantly.
Do you think the battery is dead or it's a faulty sensor?
i went and bought a new sensor from the dealer, and i'm about to change to my winter tire, so i will tell the shop to replace the sensor, but wondering if it can be some other issue rather than a faulty sensor.
If one sensor doesn't work, the car won't display the other 3 TPMS info?
Haven’t had a sensor go bad, so I can’t tell you what affect it would have on the display.
