What is the interval for front and rear differential fluid change?
Hello everyone! Hope all is well.
My 2018 Lexus IS 300 AWD FSport is nearing 70,000 miles and the maintenance log I’m looking at right now says to inspect front and rear differential oil at 90,000 miles but nothing about when the oil should be changed.
The transmission was flushed at the Toyota dealership in October at 67,000 miles and the car’s performance has improved tremendously as a result, with smoother gear shifting and responsive shifting.
I plan to flush the transmission again around 110,000 miles.
The reason I chose a flush ( fluid exchange ) over drain and refill was because the professionals over at CarTalk.com, and some of the guys on this platform, highly recommended it. A fluid exchange is safe when done early ( around 60,000 miles ) rather than later they warned.
Now, I would appreciate your insight on when the front and rear differential oil on the Lexus IS AWD needs to be changed.
As always, thank you very much for your time and knowledge-sharing with me today.

Do you mind sharing why you will be doing it at 45,000 miles from now on ? And did the dealer recommend it for 60,000 miles?
im asking because the user manual is mute on the issue and I don’t understand why.
I purchased the car with 58,000 miles without complete service history. I plan on holding on to the car long term. The 60,000 mile service recommends checking front and rear diff oil. Might as well drain it and replace it, same with the transmission as preventive maintenance.
