Default Replacing park assist sensor

Hello, so I kept getting the dirty sensor error. This was about a year ago. I took it to the dealer for the ics recall about a month ago. I thought that would fix the problem. It didn’t. So there is a rock chip on one of the sensors. Front left inner. I ordered 2 for future use. Now when I replaced that “bad” sensor I get the message “ics malfunction. Contact dealer”. I connect my scanner to the car to see if there are any codes. There were a few. I accidentally did a quick clear. Code came back. I decided to put the original one back on. Now it’s fine. Maybe the error will come back tomorrow. My question is does it have to be the same sensor? They sold me a painted sensor instead of a black matte sensor. There is no way 2 sensors are bad, is there? Thanks in advance.

The sensors are probably programmed for each location (like the tire pressure monitoring system) so the computer can tell where to alert you before hitting something. It probably has to be programmed with Tech-stream.

The tpms has to be programmed after a tire rotation also? It’s looking more and more like this vehicle isn’t meant to be repaired by a home mechanic.

The TPMS doesn’t have to be initialized by the dealer after a rotation. You can do it yourself. Look at page 588 of the owners manual. I was just referring to the location of the Sensor so you know which tire sensor needs attention in the event of a pressure loss, or in your case the park assist sensor location which is detecting an obstacle to alert you to the correct position of the sensor ie; front left or front right.

So I finally got around to replacing my sensors. Does anyone here know what these numbers should be or how do I calculate them?
