I have a 2016 Lexus is 300 f sport with 102,000 miles. Initially the car had trouble accelerating, even when flooring the accelerator the car barely picked up. I cleaned the MAF sensor and there is slight improvement. However, I have noticed when the car starts to accelerate, it starts to smell like the car is on fire. No check engine light is on, the throttle body was cleaned last year.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Car is stock, oil change every 5000 miles. Spark plugs were changed last year, air filter just changed last week. PCV valve never been changed. It’s soo odd, the smell is very prominent when car starts to accelerate and it disappears in a little bit.
Is it a raw fuel smell or rotten egg smell ?
The pcv is important for the engine to breathe properly, I changed my pcv at 60,000 miles when I changed the spark plugs. My car had a hesitation and it completely stopped hesitating after the plugs and pcv were changed.
Your car has a v6 engine, correct?

If you can smell exhaust entering the passenger compartment it might be entering through a damaged or broken cabin vent located behind the rear bumper cover. The cabin vents have rubber flaps that should close to prevent exhaust from entering the car. This can be more noticeable during hard acceleration while a front window is open.
Yeah, it’s a V6.
I am going to order the PCV valve and see if that helps. Given the hesitation and burning smell, I guess I will change the spark plugs at the same time as well. Thank you
