Hello,
I recently replaced my headlights on my 2014 Lexus is250 and the ‘check headlight system’ light came up on my dash. Everything works fine so I contacted the eBay seller who sold the lights. They said that the Lexus computer will not recognize the after market lights so I will need to go to a repair shop and have them eliminate the code. WTH?! I called the dealership and they said they said they don’t deal with aftermarket stuff but I should take it in and they would diagnose it. Not looking to fork over more money on this. Anyways, I know the previous generations had an AFS fuse that could be removed but I didn’t see anything with the2014. If you happen to have any advice on a solution to rid this warning light would be greatly appreciated.
Let me guess, new headlights are LED and the originals were HID?
The new headlights are LED but I’m not sure what the original ones are. I just bought the car and the headlights that came with it are original from the base OEM package . Not sure if the base uses HID. Thank you for the reply.
The load presented by the aftermarket headlights doesn’t match the expected load, so you get the warning message.
These issues are usually resolved by adding resistors and/or relays. Took both to resolve issues with the LED taillights I added to my other car.

Thank you so much. I will look into these possibilities and see if I can get this resolved. I know it is just a warning light but annoys the bleep outta me.

come to think of it, the new headlights did not come with turn signal bulbs for what ever reason. So I took the oem turn signal bulbs from the other headlights and used them in the new ones. Do you think I should buy led turn signals to possibly rid the warning light or not bother?

In another thread you said everything is fine until you turn on the lights. So does that mean no warning in the daytime when using the turn signals? If so, I wouldn’t worry about the turn signal bulbs. Headlights and turn signals are on different circuits.

oh duh, that makes sense. Yes, it only comes on when I turn the headlights on. Not daylight blinker usage. Thank you for the info.

Were you able to remove the warning? I just installed aftermarket lights and the same thing happened on my 2014.
