Default Missing heated steering wheel feature

Hello everyone,

First time posting on this forum site and looks like a great community. I have a 2015 IS350 F-Sport.

I just found out today that the F-Sport package for the 2015 model was supposed to come with a heated steering wheel. However, I do not have the button for it. I have everything else the package is supposed to come with. Why would this one feature not be present? Is it possible that my car has the functionality for the heated steering wheel and just need to get a button installed?

I believe, it was part of the cold weather package. At least, that is how it is both on my 2016 RCF and the 2019 IS350 F-Sport. Both of them have heated steering and was included as part of the cold weather package. It is a separate option. It was not offered in warmer climates, I assume.

You can always add it on if your car did not come equipped with it. It’s very simple to do as I’ve done it several times now.

Never heard of it being added on, I'd assume you'd have to get a new steering wheel which has the heat coils in the steering wheel, plus button, plus wiring?

You’d need the correct wheel, clockspring, and console button. The wiring is there, it’s all plug and play once you get those 3 items.

The heated steering wheel vs non-heated steering have different part numbers, check the part number since it varies based off color and heated or not.
However the clock spring is the same (for heated and non-heated), part #: 8430853040

I'm 99% sure that all you have to do is change the steering wheel (along with the buttons on the wheel itself, part #: 8425053110C0) + add the button on the center console switch panel (part #: 84752-24040)

Update:
It's plug and play, no extra wire needed.

Im looking to add this to my car but I don't have lane keep assist or adaptive cruise control. Do you know if it would still be plug and play for me or would I have to change wiring and or clock spring?

I want to add this feature to my IS and I don't have lane keep assist or ACC either. The question is if it's still pre-wired for heating function, i.e. whether the connector with two wires is in steering column or not.
As far as I know, this connector should be plugged in a spiral cable assembly that is different for "base" models and the ones equipped with heated steering and pre-collision system.
The difference is an additional slot for this very connector.

What I was able to find is that to retrofit heated steering to my vehicle (2017 200t F Sport) with no lane keep nor ACC, one needs:
- heated steering wheel (WHEEL ASSY, STEERING - 45100-53471-21),
- central control panel (SWITCH, REFRESHING SEAT - 84752-24040)
- spiral cable assembly (CABLE SUB-ASSY, SPIRAL W/SENSOR - 84307-53040)
