Tried to start the car ('07 IS 250 AWD) today and it was completely dead, I had to open it using the key. When I get inside no lights at all. I tried to jump start it and as soon as I attach it to the battery the light comes in, check engine light comes on as well, when I try to start it it wont do anything at all like I didn't press the button, the dash comes on but wont start or even crank. I left it like that for 20 mins and tried to start it and it still would do the same thing and check engine light is still on. When I remove the cables from the other car it dies completely again. Any ideas what I can try? I found different issues in the forum but nothing similar to this so please help! thanks

 

Try a new battery. Sometimes jumping with old/shorted battery will do that ...

 

Tried with a cable which worked on that car a few weeks ago and also tried with a jump starter pack
