It's on the tailshaft/output shaft of the transmission. That said, you can unplug it, test it, replace it. Money has it that's not it though. Usually it ties back to the engine ECU or gauge cluster in the dash.
I'm not going to bet my life on it, but this may be it right here. Left side on my A760E which may not be the case on your A960.
Single bolt, black sensor towards the rear.
If I recall I searched this code awhile back. I also ready the cluster replacement was the fix for the manual transmission.
I had checked all sensors all wiring everything checked out on the snap on scanner all 4 sides read same mph when driving so my last option was cluster an it fixed the issue! Thank god
