Unbelievable Mileage

I don't rely on that display, I do the calculations based on how much gas I get at the pump and how many Kms I drive. FYI, those displays are so erroneous. Did you notice when you fill the tank and it displays "approx range" e.g. 300 miles, then you drive it for 2 miles and the display shows the "approx range" is 290 miles. Someone may say this is due to the movement, in oil &gas offshore industry, sloshing is very severe yet the errors are not that huge; Lexus instrument which is used in this car is a joke!

Not yet. I have the Mini VCI/Techstream. I need to learn how to use/do it; I searched on Youtube but did not find good vids., do you know any?. I really don't want to throw $800+ on new spark plugs while the car is only driven 75,600 km. I hate the Canadian Lexus dealerships.

OP. Mr Figs really gave you the best advice. The answer is there you just have to take the right steps to get to it. I have all the manuals for the IS250 and would be happy to share the repair information with you. You simply need to get the codes that tell you what the trouble is As for guessing what it could be that is all hit and miss. You are simply going to have to spend the money to diagnose the problem by paying someone to get the codes or take the time to do it yourself. It has to be done.

Your gas consumption is twice what it should be. I'll bet its not meeting emissions specifications. Bite the bullet and take it to a Lexus dealership and have them diagnose the problem. You don't have to get the work done there but the longer you wait, you could have paid for the diagnosis!
