Ok i already know people are going to tell me to get a 350 or F. But that's not a choice in Norway. So forget it. I really really like the idea of tuning an engine and putting a turbo or SC on it. But I'm really scared for the reliability of the car. My question is. What is the limit of the IS250? And what can I do to it? I really want a turbo on it, and still want it to be reliable. I know RR racing have a SC kit. But it's really expensive and no one has made it (I think). I need your knowledge, is it possible to have a 4gr with turbo and still be reliable. I have hert many things about why this is difficult like the ECU and the compression. But the kits exist so it must be possible.

I think swiping in 3GR-FSE engine will be your best bang for buck about 50 WHP more than 4GR-FSE in stock form
Very simple swap just drop in the engine and tune the ECU and you will get about 230BHP on the wheel
Would be cool. But I'm asking how to get horsepower out of this engine, not the car. I'm sorry if I dint explain right.
But do you know if the 3GR fits with the 4GR Trans and everything else?
I understand your question but i cannot think of a way to get solid power out of the 4GR. You can do FBO with header exhaust and all the thing it would still give you less than 200Hp on the wheel. And yes 3GR does fit with the original Trans. You can even run it on a 4GR ecu without tuning but you will loose power on the top end.

I just finished reading the 3gr swap link one of you sender to me. Looks like 3gr is the way to go, and maybe put supercharger on it?
Well before you do anything, I'd advise getting a carbon cleaning done and a compression test. I backed out of the RR Racing SC because my compression test showed one cylinder quite a bit lower than the rest. You don't want to blow your engine just for some more power. There are a few turbo IS250's on the forums and on youtube that you can search up and ask for their opinions. I don't know of any current members with one.

The 4GR has proven to be a very stout and robust engine platform - our kit was developed on our shop IS250 with over 150,000 miles!
We are typically seeing around 320whp (13psi) with Stage 1 on 93 pump gas and 365whp (15psi) with Stage 2 using an Ethanol blend or water/meth injection. Dramatic gains over stock:
Please feel free to give us a shout with any questions!

Can I tune the original ECU if I swapped for the 3gr?
