Thanks, would you say the cosmetic differences and oil pan placements are easy enough to work around for a reputable mechanic? It's scarce to find a 2GRFSE to match my year, model and AWD.

This is how the auto industry works. Although manufactured in 2012, these are 2013 vehicles.

I could be a month off but anything 2012-09 or later is a 2013 model. For certain 2012-10 is...

And yes, oil pans and all that are swappable by most any mechanic.

As for the failure mode; a damaged spark plug, that was not normal for these vehicles. Did you have repairs made right before the failure? Did someone have the intake manifold off for some reason?

My thought is you need to know why that happened so it doesn't repeat. I would want more details before throwing a replacement in there.

Hey did you ever find a engine? I have a 2010 Lexus IS350C. Need a engine now myself.
