Melting Dashboard -- out of warranty

You should try calling other dealers, nothing to lose. Good luck. Hence we recommend to register your car in lexusdotcom, owner's website. It pays to be in the loop.

A lot is about loyalty too. If you spend money there for years, corporate is more likely to give back. This includes Toyota's. Hand them the VIN and tell them how long you have owned them. They take it all into account.
Can someone tell me what all gets replaced? Are they only doing the upper half of the door panel or the whole thing?

I was initially denied by Lexus Loyalty since I have an 06, I didn't find out about this until this year so exceeded the 10 year extension. It wasn't until I saw tbulsara's post that I decided to e-mail the GM at the dealership I bought it from since he helped me with some warranty issues that his used car sales Manager would not touch nor the Service manager. I was surprised to get a same day response from the GM to tell me to bring it in to have looked at so that he can can submit a claim with Lexus himself. Hopefully he has enough influence to get it approved. I read somewhere that there is another lawsuit and maybe the reason why Lexus is sending out those letters again.

At best, 08's may have lasted until 2018 to have their dash/door panels replaced. Only chance now for 06-08 owners is how much a relationship you have with Toyota/Lexus and your dealer, as they may be willing to cover 50% of the cost, I certainly wouldn't get your hopes up for 100% but it's possible. I never really understood why the 08 IS-F's weren't included in the original 06-08 campaign since it uses the same dash design as the 06-08's vs the revamped center vents of the 09+'s.
Replacement door panels are super expensive, I believe last time I looked they were the same cost as a brand new dash a piece. Don't waste your time buying used parts as they will be the same thing you already have and will start melting/cracking eventually if they already are not.
