Talking Will Lexus replace the cracked dash?

I've seen opinions and other threads on this topic. Anyone know if Lexus will or will not replace it?

If yes, how do I go about getting it done?

Thank you

Yes, if you hurry. The warranty enhancement ends May 31 2017 (or 10 years from when your vehicle was put into service, whichever is later). Go to a dealer and tell them your dash is cracked and you'd like it replaced.

I drove to a Lexus dealer and they put a new dash in that day.

If you are told that you've been put on a list, I'd want something in writing simply because the warranty enhancement is ending soon.

Anyone got a service recall number, or any kind of official reference to the dash replacement in the form of a factory letter or communication?

OK, good service from my dealer, Sewell Lexus Fort Worth. I just called after posting a few minutes ago. Got a call right back from my service advisor and she had my VIN in hand and ordered the dash pad. So for those who have had bad experiences with other dealers, you may want to give these folks a try. The GX470 was my third vehicle bought from them. Got pretty decent prices on the vehicles, and excellent service up to this point.

What about when you have your GX in another country? I have mine in COLOMBIA South America since last year.

Just a bump for anyone that hasn't called or went by their service department.

The deadline for replacement is today.

I just went by and had mine checked to be certain, but the manufacturing date was 2/08 and they said the replacement cut off was like 12/07.

Bump, here we are almost a year after the expiration date of the warranty, has anyone had any luck with dealers still willing to fix this under warranty or maybe even at a discount?

Call Lexus corporation tell them you found out on your own, you were never contacted. You may have to be persistent but I wouldn't give up. Say your vehicle is registered, you should of been contacted. If you are on Lexus.com or the owners site, mention that also.

Mine was cracked really bad when I bought it. I used it as a tool to lower the price. For some reason in the back of my head, I remembered reading something about Lexus dashboards. When I got home, sure enough! I called my dealer, they passed me to parts who ordered it, 2 weeks later I am there talking to the service writer saying they should not of done that, they needed pics and stuff. I said I spoke to a service writer and was passed to parts. She went and looked, then she said, yes it is definitely cracked, ok we will replace it.

i'm going to try calling the dealer in my area (SLC) to see if they can fix it for me once I get my car. it helped in negotiating a lowering the price a bit, so even if i can't get it replaced at least I saved a bit on the final price

Well, if they won't, you can always get a dash mat. Covercraft.com has a few different options for the GX470 and the price is pretty reasonable.

Cracked dash 2004 GX470. Took to dealership last year for timing belt, radiator, etc (only 90K at 13 years). Dealership was way under estimate of anyone else locally. I mentioned the cracked dash as a joked because it is a rampant complaint across the internet. Had not intention of messing with what seemed to be a big pain. They threw on a new one that day....
