Default Strange DRL behavior issue

I have an 08 is250 RWD
Can somone explain which bulbs are the daytime running lights? Is it the high beam bulb just in low power? There's an additional bulb inside both high beam housings. What is that used for? My issue is that the driver side DRL is not consistently working. For example it was working one morning when driving to work but in the middle of the drive it cuts off. Sometimes i've noticed if i switch the headlights on and off it will bring it back. I took it to the dealership and they reccomended i repalce the high beam.

Also while my driver side high beam is not working.. i turned on the high beams while parked close to my garage door. It appears there's some light that turns on in the drivers side even though the high beam is not functioning.. sounds impossible but not just seeing things..

Yes, it is the high beam bulb at low power.

It is a parking light, also known as a city light.

Your dealer may be right; sounds like your halogen high beam (9005 type) bulb is failing. As I said earlier, the other (194 type) bulb is just a parking/city light.

Strongly consider replacing both at this time, the passenger side bulb is just as old as the failing one
and the color of light will be different from a new bulb to the older bulb.
