Default Need help sourcing IS projectors

Hi IS crowd,

I'm trying to do a retrofit with your side loading projectors. I have had a really hard time sourcing just the projector over the last 2 weeks. They used to be all over the place... Would any of you have a source for these? Much appreciated.

Send an e-mail to the guys at theretrofitsource.com, If they don't have them then they can send you to someone who does have them.

Thanks @Zmon I'm actually in communication with them currently, but didn't ask about the IS projectors. I will ask for these tomorrow.

TRS is unable to source the IS projectors. Ebay is a bust. Any other leads or suggestions are appreciated.

After searching around for some, they do seem really hard to find, always "out of stock". Maybe try a junk yard? Or find someone selling busted oem headlights with still good projectors? What year is your IS? HID or halogen? I replaced my drivers OEM headlight last year as the ballast and wiring harness was corroded really bad. The projector is still great....but i only have the one lol, other still on the car.

hey @EZLex

I'm doing a 2010 4Runner with the updated 2014+ lights for a front aluminum plate bumper. I'm stuck with the 2014+ assemblies due to several variables. I'm also in too far to go back to another route.

The only thing that I know for sure will fit are IS and GS side loading projectors. This is due to absolutely no room behind the headlight on the radiator support to have a rear entry projector. Else I would probably use the RX projectors.

I can find LH on both IS and GS but no RH haha...

Side note: the light output for the stock 2014+ Toyota projector is straight horrid. Coming from the reflector assembly it's like 30-40% worse. I can put in a different lens and upgrade to the morimoto bulbs but ideally I'd want the Lexus projectors if I'm cracking the lights apart.

Next step is to upgrade our GX460 lights. I think I can get away with just the lens for the upgrade with morimoto bulbs and ballasts.

Hmm, maybe blackflamecustoms? TRS sent me there years ago when they couldn't source me a set of 07-09 Acura MDX projectors for a Camry. Otherwise, try asking on HIDplanet. I'd bet someone there for sure has a set of IS or GS projectors, or at least can point you in the proper direction. Also, I'm assuming you're following this post on the 4runner forums? https://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-g...rofit-diy.html

On the TRS note, it looks like they sell a complete retrofit kit for the 14-17 4runner headlights. It uses their M LED bulb/projectors if this is something you'd rather do instead because honestly, our IS projectors are not the greatest. https://www.theretrofitsource.com/pr...ta-4unner.html

I have these Acura projectors. D2S era. Morimoto 35w ballasts not shown. They actually have a really nice cutoff. Bought them for an 06 Mazda 6 3.0 V6 upgrade. Let me know if interested. Well, if you think they'll fit.

Thanks @2013FSport those look great, but they have to be the side entrance type.

I was able to finally source the RH for the IS250/350 so I think I'm good now. Everything else I can get from TRS.

Just curious but what are you guys that retrofit doing for the highbeams in the IS?
Was thinking about fitting these in the 4Runner housing https://www.theretrofitsource.com/bi...high-beam.html

I really appreciate the help from forum members here.
