Default Retrofit Idea??? Help Needed!!!

I am thinking of gettin a retrofit on my 2008 Lexus IS350 that has halogen pos's in and i have 6000K HID's but I can't see S*** at night. Also its my second HID kit and the right headlight flickers sometimes when it turns on and 3 times its randomly turned off on me. Anyone else experiencing this problem? So my options are A. get OEM 2010 headlights off a CL member or B. get a retrofit done for the same price. I've never seen the output on the OEM HID's so idk how much the difference is. I also hear that the outside plastic lense is different and a bit blurred compared to the OEM lense. LMK I need to know by friday ppl !!!

If you're paying the same for HID headlights vs a retrofit, go retrofit all the way. You won't be disappointed! I got mine retrofitted, and it's hands down my favorite mod. I've seen the OEM HIDs for our cars, and they're not that great. There is no color or width at all. Also, I'm curious what components for the retrofit you would be getting that would be similarly priced as used headlights....

which projector and lense combo did you go with?? I'm getting the work done by CustomLightz and as of right now I'm gettin the Mini's put in with the TSX-R lenses...my boy just did the same setup on his 2010 SI and definitely well worth every penny. The only thing I'm a bit worried is the outside plastic lense...anyone have any experience with the difference between the halogen n oem one because we shined a projector through the halogen lense for s**** and giggles and the cut off line was blurry.

S2000 AP1 with TSX-R lens. Mini's are pretty decent performers. What sells them is they're very cheap, and are easily retrofitted into most applications. My S2000 projectors required me to cut out the back of the headlight housing in order to be able to get the ballast connector onto the back of the projector, as well as to be able to change the light bulbs. I dont think you'd need to cut yours open if you're going with Mini projectors. If you don't care about cutting it open though, I'd pick a different projector. FX-R for bi-xenon, S2000/modded RX330 projectors would make fantastic homes in your housings!

As for the blurry cutoff line, that's because the projector lens isn't very good. Fresnel lens tend to blur out the cutoff line. A clear lens (TSX-R) gives you the sharp cutoff that many people love.
I used to have a DDM kit in my car before the retrofit. Never had any problems with it. What flickering are you talking about (when does it happen)?

Damn you got the best setup!!!! any pictures with the cutoff and stuff and did you have the AFS hid oem or the halogens? Budget is a bit tight but I guess I could try to spend the little extra on the RX330's...the mini's cutoff is jus so damn sharp and the blurryness I was talking about was the actual plastic lens on the outside...plastic s*** that turns yellow from salt and stuff lol. I have the TYC halogen's so I thought I'd get the retrofit done on those. Are you running 55 watt or 35. The flickering is when I turn the car on the right one flickers as it warms up but the left just simply turns on. I have horrible experience with DDM but they say it's a hit or miss. My appointment is this sat. so I must know if I should get the $600 oem 2010 headlights from a CL member thats selling them or just get the retrofit?
