Default Card holder

I have some cards (company ID, gate entry, sometimes gift cards) that I keep in the cup holder. I need to access them daily, so it's the most convenient place to put them, but this also means I can't use the cup holder. I don't want to put them inside the armrest because I need to slide it open. I also don't want to put them in the sun visor because I can't easily take just 1 card out.

Any one know how to deal with this first world problem? I'm thinking of making a card holder myself and stick it to the side of gear selector.

TBH, that's probably your best solution. Only other suggestion I can think of without any modifications is putting them into the door panel (though they'll just slide around in there probably).

edit: also forgot about the ashtray, but it seems someone beat me to that.

I just removed my ashtray (which I don't use) and use that as a nice well for my phone, also can be for cards, etc.

I tried the ash tray but didn't like them there. I'll make a card holder to see how that looks.

The sun visor has a slot in it. I'm not sure if it's meant for cards but I've used that in the past. If it's a thicker security card you may only be able to fit one.

If the single visor OEM slot doesn't work, there are tons of aftermarket sunvisor card holder options both larger and small

OR- you can buy a spare wallet from Walmart, and cut the flap so its like the picture above, keep it in the drivers side door panel. Pull out security card in a snap.

Just buy a card holder from like any store that sells wallets, like the one Dave posted, and just leave it in the ash tray. Doesn't matter if you like it or not. You're gonna have to deal with it. Unless you want that big *** visor thing hanging in front you

Do you guys really think it is a good idea to leave a wallet on show, even though we know it only got access cards in it, for every passing crackhead to see?

lol. After seeing the FMS case, I thought about buying that and stick it to the side of the shifter instead of the visor; then I thought it's too big, so my next idea is a wallet; then I thought maybe someone will see it and think there is money inside. I need to check if it's visible from where I plan to put it.

I ended up buying this from Amazon.
Amazon Amazon

I open up the card holder flap and slip it up into the space where the carpet meets the shifter piece. That works pretty good -- it's possible to put that into the door flap too; I might experiment with that.
