Default Hood struct/shock leaking

I've been noticing some wet/oily stuff on the side of the car under the hood and noticed that the hood shocks are leaking. They still hold up the hood fine. I'm wondering if there's a way to stop them from leaking and completely failing later ...

Buy new ones. If one is blown out it won’t be long before the other goes from the added stress of taking all the weight.

OK; I was hoping that I can stop it from failing. Yeah, they're both leaking. I noticed one leaked, then a few months later I noticed the other one. The car is 10 years old.

Nope, once they leak, they're toast. You can find a relatively cheap set on Amazon for $30 or so, I replaced mine last year and went that route anyways. Another thing to check is your trunk struts, I bet they're also toast (easy to tell if the trunk slams shut). Same goes for the struts for your suspension, once they start leaking, they'll need to be replaced shortly.

Here's the cheapest eBay option where the items are located within the US :

Thanks everyone. Looks cheap enough to replace.
