My touch screen is not working on my 06 IS 250. The screen comes on as usual but when I press I agree nothing happens. I can move from Climate to audio and so forth but nothing happens when I try and press the screen. I saw some post about this issue but they were from 2010.

Anyone have this issue? If so how did you fix it?

Get a new digitizer on eBay - it is not much more than the circuit writer pen and much more likely to last long term. I removed my old digitizer with dental floss and a heat gun on low (hairdryer would work too) to loosen the adhesive. There was enough left that the replacement stuck in place fine. There is a YouTube video that walks through the whole process.

 

^^ What he said. Common issue on the 06-08. The ribbon connector for the digitizer is very flimsy and doesn't hold up well. Buy the digitizer and DIY. I did mine in less than an hour.

Yes, typically.

 

As you mentioned the screen is displaying fine so I wouldn't bother to replace it - especially with a used unit since the digitizer would likely fail at some point in the future if it was not already replaced, leading to having to do all of the labor a second time.

 

you forgot one thing that aftermarket digitizer clarity is nothing near OEM. You will see the different right away when you install it

Since there are multiple digitizer screens available, it's not very useful to make a blanket statement like this. On top of that, the OEM screen has a unacceptable failure rate.

It looks OEM after it was installed and works perfectly. There's no rainbow effect like some have complained about and the screen is easy to see.

Good luck with that screen. I did test it out and the clarity is not event halfway of the OEM.
I did see one aftermarket screen has very good quality from the clearly image to touch sensitive but i don't know where he got it.

 

Hi Guys. ( 2009 Lexus IS250)
I need your expertise and knowledge about my display.
I wipe my display with dashboard cleaner and after one day my display acted weird. display Showing and after that stop displaying. after 10 days display start work for a minute and stop again.
not noting showing again.
I have change all fuses and remove battery cable for a day and install again. noting changed.
I need your help.

Sorry for bringing this back from the dead. but my screen is lit up white. but still able to input commands on-screen, as in i can switch from stereo and ac functions primarily because I remember where the on screen commands are. . can still see screen glitch to reverse camera when i go into reverse but screen is still white. ive read about "frozen screen" where is doesn't allow input commands.

just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.

negative unfortunately. Mine just goes white. Can still input commands, but stays white.
