Touch screen not working?
Here's a quick clip of mine coming back to life for a bit. Skip to 1:50 to see commands can still be input. Even if the screen was white i could still input commands. I ended up replacing the lcd display.

Get a new digitizer on eBay - it is not much more than the circuit writer pen and much more likely to last long term. I removed my old digitizer with dental floss and a heat gun on low (hairdryer would work too) to loosen the adhesive. There was enough left that the replacement stuck in place fine. There is a YouTube video that walks through the whole process.
