Ok, well I just picked up a 2008 IS250 with 112,000 miles that is in major need of some love. I picked it up real cheap because I knew there were some issues, but I am needing a little guidance. Can someone post pics for the fuse descriptions from the owners manual?
As a quick run down, this is what I am dealing with.
Shift lock (not sure about this one) The shift lock cover is missing. I don't know if it is necessary or not, but at the moment I have to use something to press down the shift lock to get the car out of park.
Climate control panel is not functioning. I am thinking this might be a fuse or a relay.
Power Steering is not working. P/S warning light is on.
ABS warning light is on.
VSC warning light is on.
Tire Pressure warning lights. (However this is expected. I have 2 bent rims and I need to replace all 4 tires. Trying to determine if I want to repair/replace OEM wheels or pickup a new wheel/tire combo.
Need to source a rear-view mirror and replace/wire. Not sure why it is missing.
Traction control warning light is on.
I have tried to reset the ECU, by removing the battery cables and letting the car sit over night. I also removed the ETC and EFI fuses that were recommended in a different thread. I don't know if the battery is 100%, however there is a sticker on the battery showing it was manufactured in 9/16, however I did have to jump the car to charge the battery and drive it home. It has needed to be jumped again and I don't know the reason the battery was initial dead. Another weird thing, is that the driver's side window control will only roll down the windows on the drive's side. To roll down the windows on the passenger side I have to use the control on each door.
Beyond that I will need to work on routine maintenance items. Full tune up, Oil change, rear brakes, air filters. Any other items I should be considering? Wait, does the IS250 have a timing belt or timing chain? Any performance upgrades I could do at this time?
Thanks for any help.

As for " the driver's side window control will only roll down the windows on the drive's side. To roll down the windows on the passenger side I have to use the control on each door"
You disconnected the ECU. You will need to retrain the windows. Go to each door and roll the windows all the way down and then all the way up. The ECU will then get the picture. I'm not sure of the exact procedure, but if you search here, you'll find it.
As for your battery being dead and continuing to require a jump AND you many idiot lights, I suspect your alternator is dead. It's a very common problem on older ISX50's. It probably took out some fuses as well. Take it to your local autozone/advance and let them do a charge check. Many times when the alternator goes, it takes the battery as well.
Based on the things that aren't working right, other than the cost of the alternator and possibly battery, I don't think you're looking at much cost.
Good luck
P.S. You can pick up a set of manuals on eBay fairly cheap;
Thanks for the response. I actually haven't had any issues with the battery not being charged after the initial jump that I did yesterday, however I will definitely have the alternator tested as well. I was planning on removing the battery and taking it to autozone to be tested. Right now the car is on jack stands until I figure out what I am going to do regarding the wheel/tire combo. Once I figure that out, I will take to car to have the alternator tested.
Well, I took your advice and got an history report from Lexus. It looks like the car is caught up on all recalls, however normal maintenance was not always done at the dealership.
I also, took the battery out and had it tested at the local AutoZone. The battery tested good, but was only 30% charged. They fully charged the battery for me and I have reinstalled, but I still have the same issues. I will definitely have the alternator tested asap.
Yes, I have popped the top off of the fuse boxes, however I was looking for a little more detail. FYI, I just found that you can actually download a PDF copy of the owner's manual directly from the Lexus website.
Ok, well I found the fuse descriptions in the owner's manual I downloaded. I replaced 1 fuse and now all my warning lights are gone and I am back in business. I do have to find 1 more fuse to replace to get my interior lights back, but at least I have power steering and A/C.
Now I have to figure out my wheel/tire situation. The car came with 2 bent rims that don't hold air, so I am trying to figure out what I want to do here. I could replace the 2 bent rims with OEM copies or find a cheap set that would be a nice upgrade. Any suggetions on a nice set of Cheap 18"s.
No problem. So I actually had to replace 2 fuses. The 1st fuse which was in the driverside fuse panel (Under the dash) fixed all my warning lights, Power Steering, Shift lock issues, VCS etc.
The 2nd fuse I replaced just fixed the interior dome lights.
Although, I did have one weird issue. I had another 10A fuse that was located under Fuse 9. I'm not sure why it was there. From the diagram, there is nothing that would require this.
I think I may still pull the alternator and replace it or have a local shop rebuild it. With the engine running, I am showing roughly 13.4 volts across the battery. From what I read, if the voltage is lower than 13.5 the alternator is getting weak and may be on it's way out.
