I've seen various posts of people covering the black rubber piece when plasti dipping their chrome trim and some not covering it. The problem is the black rubber on my car is sort of peeling off and I was wondering if I should cover it with masking tape or just dip the trim as well. My worry is if the plasti dip ever peels off (which it inevitably will), it will take the black rubber trim with it.

I thought about this but I just worry that there is too much to go wrong knowing how terrible I am with first time DIYs. But if it does look much nicer I'll see. Thanks!
Pole Position
I've had the mini cooper flat black tape on my F for over two years and no issues. Cheap and effective.
