Default Frozen Touchscreen

Hi All, I have a frozen touchscreen, which shows everything but doesn't allow me to press anything. After doing some research I've noticed its probably the digitalizer which I have ordered a new one. Two questions I had, i carbon fibre wrapped some interior trim like window switches and center console. Could I have damaged the touchscreen because I didn't unplug the negative terminal on the battery while removing trim? Also should I disconnect the battery when removing the screen from the car to repair?

You dont have to disconnect battery to remove the unit. I have been taking out hundreds of them without removing the negative cable and non of them had any problem. Be careful on buying after market touch panel cause you may have rainbow effect (80% aftermarket will have that problem). Good luck!!!
