Default Interior lighting question

While driving at night I wanted to mess with some of the controls in my dome fixture like moon roof & what not and I couldn't see ****, and I thought this was quite odd for Lexus as I've seen 20 year old cars with backlighting on this station. Is mine burned out or was this just a cost savings model from Lexus. Anyone?

Wow, that sucks. Not very insightful for such a top notch company... I just don't get it.

Don't feel bad; In my '06, the gas cap and trunk release buttons don't light up either, which I find a much bigger omission than unlit moonroof controls. For the first six months I owned the car, I kept popping the trunk every time I bought gas at night.

Perhaps it is a safety thing. The concentration should always be on the road? Perhaps?
