How To Install Rear Diffuser?
I got this from ebay but haven't installed it yet. I don't want to drill--just want to use 3M tape. Has anyone installed one of these rear diffusers??

I got the same kind. I didnt install either but I bought just 3m double sided mounting tape. I read online the tape can hold well without holes but I could be wrong as well. When I test fit it, it lines up nicely along the car body so i guess just guide tape around the edges of the diffuser and some in the middle and stick it on? Youtube it maybe to see the process?

plenty of people have attached roof spoilers, spoilers, front lips, side skirts with just the tape, if you go to a body shop they will laugh or insist on drilling but it isn't necessary. drilling may help with the alignment/fitment but again, it's up to you. use painters tape to test fit and make marks where it should line up so that you dont have to reposition once you stick the 3M.
here's for a 3IS but it's the same..

BTW I get a lot of my inspiration from TRD Lexus Japan:

Yea its going to be tricky with the curves and CF vinyl--I will probably only be able to wrap the center section and fins with separate CF pieces. I wrapped the roof spoiler in CF turned out good. What I did was heat up the vinyl with hair dryer, wrap it, then give it a cold air shot to lock it in place.

Changing diffuser
I put the diffuser up against the bumper and it looks too ricey So theres another diffuser on ebay that's smaller and fits under the rear bumper looks cool but more subtle will be getting that one.

Just ordered the other style rear diffuser in gloss black. It installs with 3M tape but in looking under the car I see there is a plastic panel already there--I will have to see if it fits over that.

got mine from ebay too. I prepared the surface very well, put additional silicone, used 3m and place it with the help of my mechanic (you need a hand you cant do it alone). within few minutes it starts coming off because of a cheap product only 70% fit i guess. Ended up with screws coz there was no Ctrl+Z. Its there for more than a year now and you dont feel the screws. Very happy with my decision to put screws in.
I strongly suggest to put screws! if not now but in winter it may came off, better not to take risk.
