AC not cold when hot outside
In mornings my AC can get quite frigid. In afternoon when it's around 90 degrees it will have times where it doesn't work. Yesterday I kept hitting the AC button and it appeared to sound like it was kicking in, but no cold air. This morning was cold. Auto is not turned on.
Is this evident of compressor issue, or a leak? Or just a recharge? Would like to have a little idea before I put it in the shop to hear what they say. Thanks

Does it eventually get cold? When it's 90 degrees out, and the sun is beating on the car all day, it'll take a couple minutes for the plenum to finally cool down so you begin to feel cool air.
Not like you'd expect. This is the weakest a/c I have ever had in a car. And I've had it since new. Plus I live in Arizona.
Must have a defective unit. I live in 40C-45C (average) summer temps, and my AC works just fine. I leave it at 25C and it keeps the cabin cooled just fine.

Unless the trips you make are too short, the a/c should do OK. I have had cars with better a/c than the IS, but the IS is adequate. In fact, I also have an RX that cools down quicker than the IS and the interior space in that beast has to be at least 3 times the IS.
