IS250 Tire Recommendations?
I have a 2009 IS250 RWD that needs new tires. I do a mix of freeway and street miles. I also live in California so no snow but there is rain. I have no idea where to start so any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks in advance
Are you on the stock rims? 17's or 18's? Do you prioritize longevity over wet/dry grip/traction? Do you not want to spend a lot of money? All seasons will give you a bit more mileage and (depending on the tire) great dry/wet grip, good braking performance along with some performance in snow. Summer tires will give you great dry/wet grip and braking performance but nothing whatsoever in regards to snow traction, you'll also most likely go through these way before you burn through a pair of all-seasons.
For the 18's:
High performance all-seasons/regular all-seasons (the ones here listed are all high performance)
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+: Dry/wet handling and braking outperforms quite a few dedicated summer tires. A bit nosiy though, I spent around 1000 a few weeks ago on these.
Continental ExtremeContact DWS
Goodyear Eagle F1
Bridgestone Potenza Pole Positions
Dedicated summer tires:
Michelin Pilot Super Sports: Has probably the best dry/wet grip you can get on a tire. Mileage warranty isn't that great, people here often cook them by 8000-12k miles.
Hankook V12 evo
Pirelli P Zeros

I have a IS250 AWD that came with Michelin Pilot Super Sports and they are amazing in the dry and wet. I don't look forward to the day I have to replace them due to their cost and longevity but I might convince myself to splurge and buy another set.
I have stock 18 rims. Price isn't a big deal- I would rather pay more if it means better or longer lasting tires. If the all-season tires last longer I will definitely go for one of those! Thanks so much Zmon and everyone else for the input!

I picked up the Michelin - Pilot Sport A/S 3+ for my stock car and stock rims for $620 installed at Costco. Ordered them online and had them shipped to my local warehouse.
The dealership quoted me around $940 for the stock Dunlop's.

Have these on my 10 rwd...love it and it is quiet. Last pretty long too.
Sticks very well in dry. Wet is average.
I'll be getting these when my re760 are worn

I put the Bridestone pole positions on my wifes is250. They were great. If you want some more wear and performance, try the continental ExtremeContact DWS 06. The 06 is the newer compound with better wear. Also, if you dont do any snow, do the ultra high performance, not the A/S ones. good luck and dont over think it.
Michelin super sports are amazing but like stated they wear out quick and are pretty pricey but amazing tires, also continental extreme contacts dw are good summer tire. If your not looking for summers but all seasons I would go with the continentals dws, they are best seller on tire rack right now
