Side mirrors leaking fluid that is staining the car.....
Fluid is leaking out the side view mirrors and now a regular washing wont even take it off the paint.......
What can i do to get it off, and more importantly how to prevent it from happening again???
Someone suggested having a pressurized air can in my car to blast the water out after it rains or when i wash it....but that seems like a pain in the butt to keep doing.

I had the same issue. There would be a streak under my driver side mirror. It goes away pretty easily with a microfiber towel and some detailer spray. Still don't know why it happens though.

Is it water or another fluid?
Lots of people never wash their car and it's staining under both the door handles and mirrors after a while (probably dirty water coming out of the interior of the window/mirror?).
I'd suggest to use a good buffer... The stain is on the clear so it will dissapear if you buff it with a good abbrasive (not too much though) compound.

After you wash the car, there will be water that is in between the mirror and the body of the car. It doesn't matter if you wash your car every other day, dirt will always float around and blow around. The marks are just hard water spots and dissolved salts etc like aforementioned above. If using soap and water won't do it, all you need is some acetone on a white rag, gently wipe the area while the car is cool and/or in the shade. Afterwards there will be some scuffing so just grab some polish and hit it real quick and you will be golden. If acetone won't remove, (usually removes hard water spots) then you will need to buff then polish. If the markings have been on the surface cooking in the sun for 6 months, chances are it is cooked into the paint. Same will happen with bug guts which will result in paint work.

Have you ever cracked you mirror, or had one replaced?
If it was just dirty water coming from behind the mirror it should clean up easily. I wouldn't take a buffer to it. You shouldn't compound contaminated paint as it will create scratches, swirls, micro marring and the like. Buffing should only be done on a glass smooth, thoroughly clay bar'd surface.

Hey all,
So I FINALLY got around to checking the issue out....
The side mirrors were taken off to get a look on the inside and according to my mechanic the actuator is corroded and needs to be replaced. The corrosion of the material is leaving TERRIBLE stains down my doors......
Now my question is if anyone knows of a company selling reliable and fairly priced side view mirrors? Can we attach mirrors from newer gens?
For 2 OEM pieces here in Ontario Canada its like $200 each side.....$400 for a fix of this problem....
