Default Dead Lexus IS250 Anyone can help???

Hi! I got 2006 IS250 which been parked for 8 months. New battery fitted(car and key). After connect battery following happened:

- alarm goes off, all doors are locked (no chance to disarm, unplug siren too noisy, hazards on)
- key buttons not working (use metal key to get in)
- steering wheel locked
- instrument cluster dead, no illumination, nothing
- central panel dead
- start button do nothing, no led
- power windows not working

What works:
- interior lights
- exterior lights (side, main, stop)
- power seats
- fuel cap flap open button

All fuses checked, all good. Didn't try to scan it but without ignition probably not possible.

Any ideas?

Many thanks for your help

Hello, are you sure the remote is programmed for the car? I would check all wiring with a meter or test light at the connectors and check the ground straps, not sure were they are at but some have been known to break and corrode, good luck.

Not 100% sure about remote but been told car was driving ok before parked. Anyway I think even with wrong key ignition button and instrument panel should be alive or show any message at least. Never had before a car with smart entry so not sure how the car should beehive. I suspect power lost at some modules. Maybe someone had same problem?

Start looking at all your fuses and the fusible link.

Pretty sure smart keys are specific for the car. Are the batteries in the key good?

FUNNY ENOUGH THIS HAPPENED TO ME A MONTH AGO. FOR ME IT WAS THE BIG METAL FUSES IN THE ENGINE BAY, THE LITTLE BLK BOX ON ITS OWN WITH A FEW RELAYS AND THEN THERES A GREY BOX WITH LOTS OF METAL FUSES.

CHECK THAT OUT AS MINE HAD A BREAK HERE

I went out to my 2010 without the key and got in the car (the doors were not locked). The only difference I had was that my start button lit up with the dome light when I opened the door. It also lit up when i pressed it and got a warning of "Key Not Detected" in the instrument cluster.

I wonder if the car lost the key fob programming.

Hi bajandrift! Did you have exactly same symptoms? I've checked this metal strip, fuse twice but will check once more.

Hi DennisMik! Thanks for your replay, now I know how car function when everything is ok. At the beginning I suspect key but even without the key instrument panel should lit and show message as your car. My instrument panel doesn't lit, completely nothing. Also start button only illuminate but led is off all time even when I press clutch.

yes same ad my friends had similar, have you checked both fuse boxes in the footwells? there a few ignition related fuses on each side passenger and driver.

fe me the metal strip was broken but it was like a hairline break so was easily missed. there was no power going to any of the interior stuff, e,g radio, dash, lights etc. once i found the break and bridged it it worked for me.

my friend with similar symptoms had a blown/missing fuse think it was the IGN1 fuse in the driver side footwell fusebox.

hope u get it sorted cos i know how annoying/frustrating/scary these things can be.

Clutch safety sensor problem perhaps? I forget the proper name, but it the one that must be triggered in order to allow the start button to illuminate by pressing in the clutch.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but it is the only one I have found that has the exact same symptoms I am experiencing. Can Lucas2016 state if this was ever resolved and what the issue was. Thanks in advance.

Alarm/horn screaming too? Or everything is dead?
Look in the owners manual and find all of the IGx and FIx as well MPX-x (multiplex) fuses...

The bus bar fuse assembly with the clear cover by the battery having its array of fusable links is highly suspect.

Everything is dead, only response i am getting is the FOB locks and unlocks the doors, power seats work
No Acc or IGN from the push start button
security light flashes as normal
all fuses, including the ones under the clear cover have been checked, double checked, and triple checked.
