No, you can't just use HID bulbs in a car that came with halogen. You need an HID kit, which comes with ballasts and the other parts needed to make the conversion. There is a thread in our FAQ (stickied at the top of the forum) showing this; link to it here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-pictures.html

OSRAM, Philips, PIA and Sylvania all make a quality bulb. You'll want to do some research on what's best in the H11 category. But I would say stay away from the bulbs that have the blue tint on them as there's a trade off in brightness and intensity.

I did the xenondepot.com H11 Philips Extreme HID Conversion and it was WELL worth the money. I even have slightly tinted lenses on my headlights and they are still clear and bright.

Sorry for the late reply, I must have missed your response. Thank you so much for the positive word of mouth, and for the referral. I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying your XenonDepot Xtreme h11 HID kit. You've had the kit installed for a while now... The Philips bulbs should have color-shifted by now. Do you notice anything?

To be honest I haven't noticed a shift in color. They still look very white which is perfect. Then again I only drive the car maybe once or twice a week and that's maybe 30-50 miles total. I would bet I haven't put enough hours on the bulbs for them to color shift yet.

Gotcha! It usually takes around 100 hours for the shift to happen. It is very subtle, so you may not notice if unless you're looking for it.

Do they shift more towards blue or down a bit to a more warmer color?

They usually go from 4300k to 4700k +/- 150K after about 100 hours of use.
