Default viper remote start

I just got a 2 way viper remote starter installl from best buy on my 2007 is250. If anyone has it installed on there car can you tell me how it is suppose to work. I got the viper 4806V with a dball2 for immobilizer. The way mine work is you have to lock the car with the viper remote in order for the remote start to say on. Then you can have to unlock it with the viper remote to go in and drive. Can't unlock by the door handle.

If you use the lock button on the handle then when you start the car with the viper remote the car stay on for 30 second then shut off. This is kind of annoying to me since now i have to use the remote to lock my car if i want to start my car with the remote.

Let me know how it is suppose to work.

I also have viper on my 07" IS, got installed at the local mobile electronic store, the way my work is if i remote start my car with the viper, i have to use the viper remote to unlock the car, and from the time i press unlock button i have 45 seconds to get in the car and press on brake pedal and drive, if I don't press on time the engine will shut off, the only time my factory key fob not respond is when the engine running by the viper remote start, if I don't remote start my key fob work as normal.

On most Toyotas and Lexus' there is a disarm wire for the factory alarm. When you press the lock button on the door, the vehicle is arming the factory alarm and if they did not run the disarm and re-arm wire on the viper remote start, this would prevent you from using the door controls. another way to test it is if you lock the doors from the inside, with the door open, and shut the door...it should do the same thing you describe, run for 30 seconds and shut off. When you lock and unlock the doors with the viper control, it is acting as a keyless entry and does not use the factory alarm.

Many vehicles we did back in the day, prior to the fancy immobilizer bypasses, is that we would have the remote start automatically unlock the vehicle, start the car, and then relock it.

I hope that explanation made sense. You could still have it set up to use the door controls, but they would need to bypass (or shut down) the factory alarm while starting, for which it sounds like they did not setup.
