Does the Check Engine Light stay on forever, unless you start the car, then it disappears?

Is this a lexus thing? As the last acura I had MIL/CEL would stay on for like 20 seconds then disappear when the key is on and engine is off.

Yes, I believe all lights stay on.

All of your lights illuminate on your dash board when your car is on but your engine is not running? My lights do come on, but just for a brief 5 seconds, only the check engine light would STAY ON even after all the other lights have turned themselves off. Nevertheless, if I start the car(engine running), ALL lights will immediately turn off.

Yes I think its normal because that's what happens to me too. Once I start the engine the lights turn off.
