Changing puddle lights - removing mirror, tips?
Just tried to change my puddle lights. When I tried to put the glass mirror back on it cracked LOL.
Does anyone have any tips for getting it on when my new mirror arrives? I've practiced a few times with my cracked one but I'm finding it's pretty tricky still.

Make sure the tabs are aligned and push firmly in the center of the mirror until it snaps in. Do NOT push on the outer edges as the stress from pushing will cause the mirror to break.

I followed one of the thread here and did not have to remove the mirrors. Basically, removed the 2 outter screws by turning the mirrors all the way in and use a long skinny screw driver to remove the two outter screws. Then use a credit card to partially separate the mirror cover and the puddle lamp will come out.
This was easier because I had a very hard time removing the mirrors (and afraid it would break)

I cracked the mirror putting it back on.
How did you get the screw driver to line up with the screws without removing the mirror? I got it into place but at the angle it was at I don't think I could unscrew it

I tried the centre pressure method with my cracked mirror and it seems to work good. If it clicks in place, is it in place?
I think I cracked it last time because it was already in place but I kept pressing the edges to make sure they were clipped in properly and it cracked...

When I did mine I took Vaseline and dabbed the area that needs to be pushed into place.
Let me just say it worked as good as everything you would expect from a Vaseline job
Not a joke it worked like a charm, the mirror just slipped in with hardly any effort .

I originally cracked mine also when i changed my puddle lamps. A $235 mistake lol.
Best way i found to reattach the mirror is to Vaseline the tabs first just like 5gears said. Make sure the upper tabs are aligned and apply pressure to the bottom center of the mirror. I used 2-3 micro fiber cloths when I applied pressure, mirror should snap in place.
