So i'm stressed out to the max. So my car died, tried changing the battery but can't because of the stupid clips on the battery cover. Can't for the life of me get them to open without fear of breaking the thing apart. Tried to jump the car with a portable charger and the electronics turn on, radio, lights, etc but the car doesn't start when pushing the Start button.

Called a tow to try to tow the car to my mechanic and they're unable to tow my car since it's in an inclined driveway with the front of the car facing the house. I put the car in neutral and tried pushing it downhill of my driveway but no go. It doesn't budge an inch. They could tow it but due to it being in an incline the front bumper will most likely be damaged. Any ideas on how the hell I can push this car out of my driveway or any other ideas? Much appreciated!

Did you check your push start fuses?

You will need to pop off the shift-lock cover and press the shift-lock button down to be able to release the car from PARK to neutral. Then you'll be able to roll it down the drive into the street.

GL with the fix; could be a # of things. When you say "clips", do you mean the battery cables on the terminals?

Yes i pressed the shift-lock button to shift it into neutral but still wouldn't budge. The clip i'm referring is the circled part in the picture below which holds some lead. From reading other threads they said to just stick a flathead screwdriver in the slots on the 2nd pic and pop it out but i've been doing that and no go. Afraid to break it

^Well then, if your car won't move while in neutral...there's another problem right there. I've read about a starter going bad causing the gears not to retract and thus sticking on the flywheel. I don't see why your car wouldn't move if not in neutral.

About the clip, it's nearly a stay to help keep that battery cable where it needs to be. It won't do anything if you break it; if it breaks, use a zip-tie instead.

I second the above, don't stress about breaking it. I just replaced my battery in my 06 IS350 this past weekend, I also had a hard time getting the clip open - the trick I used was needle nose pliers. I used a lot of force to open each side and both finally unclipped for me... and the clip itself is still fine after everything was all done. good luck

I managed to get the clip thing off via brute force and changed the battery. Got it running and took it to the mechanic for a double check. Alternator is faulty fml

^Mine might be on the way out too; when I was diagnosing my NAV screen power issue and took readings on my NEW battery, it's not charging at even 14 volts.
