M4500e Marantec
Hi all.
I'm trying to program my homelink (06 IS350) to my Marantec M4500e garage door opener. Or the other way around.
I've searched the forums (and google, and FAQs, etc.) and have found lots of threads on garage door openers that eventually lead to "use the train (or learn) button" on the GDO.
As far as I can tell, Marantec GDO do not have a learn button. Their support tells you to follow the car manual. The Lexus manual says to use the learn/train button on the GDO. Which does not exist.
Anyone have success with this GDO? It's easily the quietest GDO I've ever had. I have 3 of them but only really care if one is programmed to the car.
Thanks

Were you able to train the homelink button in the car to your handheld opener first? Does your Marantec have a semi-transparent panel that would conceal the lightbulb for the GDO? There are several makes and models that have the learn button inside of this light casing.

According to the internet, there is no learn button on this brand GDO. I've looked all over the GDO as well. I've successfully programmed it at my old house using a different GDO brand - I mean only that I am familiar with learn buttons, etc.
Marantec's super helpful FAQs gives this:
23. Where is the learn button?
The learn button would be the button on your hand held transmitter that operates the door.

A second pack of new batteries seems to have done it.
At that point I put the Marantec into program mode and then held down the swab button and homelink button simultaneously.
Think it should've worked on the first new set of batteries (I tried both batteries in the package, so really, it was the third new battery that worked
).
Sometimes, it's just bad parts.
This youtube video showed me how to get the GDO in the correct mode:

Hello Peredhil,
Would you mind sharing the exact steps to get HomeLink working? I have a 2017 GX460 and have gone through 20+ attempts to no avail. My GDO is Synergy 260.
Thanks in advance!

I am trying to identify your steps based on your experience (this is not meant to be the correct steps, I am simply trying to identify the OP's steps which seem to have worked for the OP)
1. Put the Marantec GDO in Trasmitter/Remote Program Mode. The video you provided is a great help, but doesn't really apply to newer models that doesn't have those old fashioned LED indicators. The Marantec Synergy 260 has a 1" display. What I do is I press on the "Program" button for 5 seconds (don't press it for longer than 10 seconds, as that will take you to the full menu).
2. The GDO is now in Quick Program mode which has three steps. First step, it will let you set the Open Limit of the garage door. If your garage door has been working fine, then all you need to do is press the Program button again to confirm the first step. The second step allows you to set the Closed Limit. Again, press "Program" button again to confirm the Close Limit. Once you have done that, it takes you to the last step, which is where you program your remote/transmitter. The display on GDO will show a flashing "Wifi" symbol.
3. At this time, go to your car with the HomeLink. Simultaneously press on the HomeLink button that you want to program and the button on your working transmitter/remote.
4. While holding down both the HomeLink button and the transmitter/remote button, the LED on the HomeLink should blink slowly for the first few seconds, then rapidly. Once the LED blinks rapidly, you can let go of both buttons.
Is this correct?

I have just gotten official response from Marantec, but it differs from the steps that I THINK you implied:

HOMELINK
Process: Program Marantec Garage Opener
Vehicle: Any vehicle with Homelink
Please remove the metal clip off the back of the remote control before programming Homelink. Sometimes the metal clip will interfere with programming. Use the Marantec remote control to sit in the car and program Homelink. There is no “smart” or “learn” button on the motor. Kindly use your Marantec remote control without a visor clip attached.
CAUTION!
Before programming HomeLink® to a garage door opener or gate operator, make sure that people and objects are out of the way of the device to prevent potential harm or damage. Your motorized garage door or gate will open and close while you are programming HomeLink. Do not program HomeLink if people or pets are in the path of the door or gate. A moving garage door or gate can cause serious injury or death to people and pets or damage to objects. Vehicle exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a dangerous gas. Do not run the vehicle's engine while programming HomeLink. Exhaust gas can cause serious injury or death. When programming a garage door opener, it is advised to park outside of the garage.
1. Sit in vehicle. PRESS and HOLD the two outer HomeLink® buttons, releasing only when the HomeLink indicator light begins to flash (about 20 seconds).
2. Position the Marantec remote 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink surface, keeping the HomeLink indicator light in view.
3. Using both hands, simultaneously PRESS and HOLD both the desired HomeLink button AND Marantec remote button. DO NOT release these buttons until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly and then rapidly. When the indicator light flashes rapidly, both buttons may be released. (The rapid flashing indicates successful training.)
4. PRESS and HOLD the trained HomeLink button and observe the indicator light.
o If the indicator light is solid/continuous, training is complete and your device should activate when the HomeLink button is pressed and released.
Retain the original Marantec remote for use in other vehicles, as well as for future HomeLink programming. It is also suggested that upon the sale of the vehicle, the programmed HomeLink buttons be erased for security purposes. To erase the programmed buttons, perform the procedure shown in step number 1.

This is similar to what I had found on the internet/youtube. (
)
When I tried it, it actually worked, BUT stopped working the next working. Seems to me that the GDO is changing it's code automatically.
Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the Marantec opener, but Googling a numerous resources they all say you have to push the P button on the opener to put it in learning mode. https://www.ebay.com/gds/How-to-Prog...5701582/g.html
