Whats the use of the steering wheel mounted function button above the mode button on the right side.
How do you program the overhead garage door opener(by the sunroof switches)?

Function button is only used to toggle info when the display shows other info such as FRONT DOOR OPEN. You use FUNCTION button to switch back and forth from FRONT DOOR OPEN to driving info such as mileage.
Garage door opener - Take your regular opener right next to the button, press down your regular opener and the button you want to program at the same time, until it flashes. That's all.
