Default rattle noice, when starting...

Hi folks, i get this rattle noice for a split second when i start the car....its sounds like the pistons are hitting bare metal of the head and then it goes away..like there isnt any lubrication on pistons...
It just happens when i start the car, just a split second, and then its all smooth...did anyone experience the same? wish i could upload a recorded sound file, so its clear what im trying to explain...
thx/dan

I am getting the same thing, only happens for a second. Its not the cam issue for me, it almost just sounds like something tapping. Usually when i put it from park to drive. I wonder if its a transmission issue. Welp, still under warranty so I guess I will take her on in to Lexus!

Like this???

There is a Technical Service Information Bulletin (TSIB) for this. It's EG019-07 so if you're still under warranty with lexus take it in and they will fix it for you.... Enjoy a new loaner

Hope this helps

There is a recent recall by Lexus for this issue...so even if u don't have warranty...they should fix it...ask your local Lexus Dealership.

Good Luck

^Not yet, because the dealerships don't even have the parts needed to fix everything.

^Because it is a recall, yes! Just as long as your vin is part of the recall; I believe they will be mailing a notice as usual. But you can be proactive and call the dealership or visit and see if you qualify.

My is250 started rattling about a year and seems more frequent lately. I'm taking my car in on friday and lexus stated that they'll repair with a redesigned cam gear and etc.

I haven't heard anything on redesigned replacement part on this issue we're having even with the recent thread here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-recall-5.html

Hopefully they can repair it for good.
