Lexus Recall
That's cool. Not all my experience was bad so yes i'll give
to some service The shop foreman called me this morning and told me to bring the car back today to relook. If I had leak before the recall wprl they would've let me know before hand, and very possible this leak was caused by the recall done. Will see what they find out today and hopefully no $$ out of my pocket and most importantly they can fix the problem.
I just got the VVT recall in the mail as well. Sigh. The letter mentioned it could take 24 hours to complete. Really? I wouldn't mind getting a ISF loaner.. and I'll make sure to schedule it for the weekend!
Dealer say it's just excessive oil while they replace the gasket. The surrounding is all dry so that may explain I don't have anymore oil on my garage floor after I clean it up. They're cleaning the oil off the engine area now so let see if I see anymore oil leaks after today.

To let over 3 litres spill out then send you on your merry way without saying anything is just shady...
That's what they told you but do you normally run with only 3 litres of oil? Even if they did something that caused oil to start leaking and then stopped it, they should have told you and asked what oil you use, then replaced it.

Btw, one side of my HID bulb went out (none-factory) the first time I got my car out of the dealer. While we're checking out the car yesterday i found out one of the HID connector was unplugged.... well, that explains everything and why my bulb went out in less than a year...... On the positive note I now have 1 pair of good working light after this trip to the dealership.
I will be checking oil level today when I go home and monitor any more leak through out next few weeks. So far I've driven about 1200 miles since the racall; this IS350 is still running strong at around 170k miles. I have the car for so long now that I wish I can get a new engine recall every months.... LOL
Do you normally get service oil change at the dealer? If so, I suggest you have them do oil change at the time of this recall. To answer your question: No, dealer will not change oil on this recall.
Update:
I asked the tech guy today when I booked my appointment about plugs and water pump and he said plugs definitely as they charge no labor and they will inspect the pump but its not anything to do with the can gear job so it would be full pop parts/labor

I will have them change it while they have it for the day.
If the car is under warranty do they do free updates to the nav system?
No free update, but mine was updated for free due to screen was skipping and they fixed it under warranty. That was about.... 8 years ago.
I have a IS250 RWD, and I've heard the rattle noise during my start up at certain times. I brought it in and they couldn't duplicate it - they also mentioned it was not an issue with the IS250's. However, because of some issues I had with the service center, the manager asked me to bring my car back in and they will service it for the issue.
Because the 250's have a different engine than the 350's....what do you think they'll do?
ohh and I got a quote on getting the spark plugs changed. Lexus Service Center, because of the work they're going to be doing will do it for $150 labor.
I'm wondering if I should just do this or go through a trusted mechanic for a cheaper price?

They are keeping the car over night so I won't be able to test it out but I hope it is faster to respond!
Also got the oil changed while there and they did the wiper recall fix while they had it so I actually had 4 things done to my 2011 IS350C... The VVT gear fix, the Wipe fix, the oil change/service ($150) and the firmware updated on the head unit.
Heres hoping to a nice Saturday of enjoying IS350C again!
Side note: Not all the impressed with the 2014 IS250 AWD... I like my 2011 IS350C better....
no charge on the labor to change the spark plugs? That's a pretty good service center!!
