is there an issue with parking the car in reverse for extended periods of time?
i have a habit of backing into my spot at work and leaving it in reverse gear
my concern is that the spring loaded mechanism in the shifter assembly when put in reverse may "wear out"

 

put it in first, problem solved.

 

the problem is remembering to do so
problem problematic
probably

 

I highly doubt it will cause any issues.

I really don't think it'll do anything harmful. Just don't forget you're in reverse and back into another car or something. lol
