Default Shifter Linkage issue?

Well, my sister went to drive my car today, and was telling me that going from Drive to reverse (with brake applied completely at a stop) it was having an issue getting into gear. I didn't believe her initially, but I had the same problem too. Has anyone had a similar problem with this? Thanks in advance!

If you get under the car there is a nut and lock washer that tightens down on the linkage from the shifter to the tranny. The whole in the linkage is oblong, if the bolt has moved a little bit over time it can cause issues getting into gear. Do yourself a favor and don't get under the car and loosen that nut then start yanking on the linkage. Move it just slightly until you find the sweet spot, it wont take much.

I had the same problem, I couldn't get back into reverse and park. It was the shift level control unit. Costed me $300 to replace.

bump, my friend is having the same issue. Basically you can change the gears from the bottom, but from the shifter assembly inside the car, the gears won't move at all. I'm guessing it's the shift level control unit noted above?
