Default Ghost in the glove box?

Yesterday, I could not open my trunk with the button on the lid, the key fob, or the inside button. Opening the glove box, I discovered that the button had popped out. I carry my golf clubs in the trunk, and golf almost daily, so I am positive I hadn't even opened the glove box in days. It was about 102 degrees, according to the car's thermometer, at the time. Weird!

Wow that is weird. Funny tittle though and are you talking about the button hidden in the glove box to lock the trunk?

I don't know exactly how that button is held in, when pushed in, but I'm thinking it heated up to about 120 degrees inside the car, and that softened up what was holding it, allowing it to pop out...or, there is a ghost in the glove box.

Same thing happens to me. Every so often, it just pops out by itself.

Also if you disconnect the button you cannot open the trunk with the fob or trunk button on the back. I had removed glovebox assembly to find a squeak and found that out the hard way, needed something from trunk at work and button assembly was at home.

This has been happening to me for years but in winter time. I even started a thread about it:

Well, there goes my heat theory, I guess. Now, maybe it's an 'extreme temperature' theory. So far, it's happened only once. If it continues, maybe I'll tape it down.
