Default Power Trunk Not Working?

Hi guys I drive a 2009 GS 350 AWD and the power trunk is not working as I get the signal in the car and it beeps and the light flashes. I can only open the trunk manually with the key as the button in the car and the FOB won't open the trunk. Anyone know what this means?

You might have accidentally pushed the Valet button in the glove box.

In the glove box. On the side border under the button to open the glove box.

That's the button. Zoom in under the glove box open button.

Thanks I tried pushing the button in and out and still the trunk will not open automatically. So I assume something is wrong electonically as when I close the trunk manually I don't hear that sound of it electronically closing.

I took the car to the dealer the other day and they attempted to find out what the problem but they couldn't as they said I need to bring it in again as they need more time to take apart the passenger seat and look into the electrical functions etc. They told me a previous GS350 with that problem had to replace a part that costs $700 Cdn plus labour. I am not sure if I can source the part anywhere else as I am scared to take it to a non Lexus dealer for servicing as I don't want them to screw anything up.

Hrmm..... I'd definitely leave it to the dealer, pay the diagnosis fee, and have them check to make sure what's wrong, then order online parts and do the DIY myself. For the record, $700 sounds legit if the motors have gone out, or even the wiring harnesss where they have to remove tons of stuff needs to be replaced.

It look like the same problem as GS350 2007-2008 which is described in L-SB-0123-08 and already discussed in other thread.

I would take it to a small mechanic someone good with electrical work.

I just never liked dealing with the dealer when it comes to hunting electrical problems. They charge by the hour, and they love to slap parts.

Not sure this helps, but the emergency lever (yellow) at the bottom of the trunk lid may (or may not) affect the operation of the trunk lock. A few years ago my wife complained about a non-working trunk lid, I don't quite remember the detail of the complain, but my wild goose chasing style of trouble-shooting included moving that lever back and forth a few times. And the problem was gone for good, never been back so far.

Great insight canatto, you never know, and it doesn't hurt to take 5 minutes and try that out! I'll be spreading the word for future members with trunk lid problems (just in case).
